DIARY: September 22, 2021: A soft place to fall .... and sneak peek at Joe interview

It’s been a long week, the promo for the book swirls around me as well as preparing for a show on Friday in my little home village of Forest. The pandemic continues to show its claws, the surprising twists in hearts and minds of frenemies and exes…the strangers on edge, the opinions flying about. I type in this box so comforted that I have all of you to share with. To give sneak peeks of things. To let you know that whatever you’re going through, you’re the best people I know and I will treasure you always. Whatever has you teary, heartbroken, back-broken, weary, stuck or meandering, know that the power of music will always be a soft place to fall…sing to it, dream of it, put it on repeat. And know that every day I think of making more for you.

Please enjoy a sneak peek at the interview with Joe Elliott that will go up everywhere tomorrow. Here is someone who IS love, who cares about hearts, and is joy. He reminds me of all of you.

Oh and I also heard the “Toy” record, which isn’t announced yet, so there’s another secret all of you can keep for a while. Some of Bowie’s early writing, which we re-recorded in 2000…finally coming out. My voice is all over it. My clarinet. I am once again reminded of miracles, of small-town girls venturing into big cities, of dreams and ice cream cake with Ziggy and kindness. All that matters.

Love Emm
