APRIL 8: LISTMANIA!
Welcome to today's list of collected gems:
The things that people say to you can sure ring out in your head a long time. It's time to purge some bad vibes.
Whilst compiling this list I noticed that I have successfully culled the originators of these compliments from my music team. The moral of the story being, don't work with Debbie Downers but if you have to work with Debbie Downers, don't take any shit. And if for some reason you've already taken the shit, might as well post it in Top 10 form with accompanying cartoons for a fun, easy read!

1. "You have no vocal range"
- former manager.

2. "You could lose 5 pounds" - the same manager. I was 110 lbs.

3. "You’re not damaged enough to be an artist" - an A&R exec while driving in his Lexus

4. "You’re too indie to be pop and too pop to be indie" - can't remember

5. "Your music is too safe" - someone i was on tour with, after i played her new demos

6. "How old is she now?" - former agent, alluding to how slow my career was moving. said to a friend of mine, over speakerphone, not aware i was in the room. I was 25.

7. "If you didn’t meet me, you’d be a whore." - former manager, said as a joke, but still, the word "whore" with a smile is STILL THE WORD WHORE

8. "We couldn’t book you a tour out west with 10 people in the office working on it around the clock." - former agent, during our final conversation. i went on tour out west a few months later.

9. "You’re real." - record company president, when I asked him point blank why he signed me

10. "I couldn’t get Bob Dylan a deal today" - former manager in response to his failure to get me a record deal
Tweet me the stupidest things people have ever said to you at Twitter. I got so many blind people writing me as a result of my last list. I love it! Bad prescriptions of the world - UNITE! (if you can read this).
Cartoons by the bitchin' Natalie Dee.
Motivational journal-ending quote of the day: "Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." --Mark Twain
