I wanted to let you know about 2 shows coming up in Toronto in the next few weeks - Dec 12 & 14th!
The first is a songwriters circle at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the second is a War Child Benefit at The Dakota with Luke Doucet. I really hope you'll come to one of them, they're my last Toronto shows for some time.

The Songwriters Association of Canada (S.A.C.), in
association with The Royal Conservatory, presents BLUEBIRD NORTH, an intimate,
interactive musical showcase that brings together some of Canada's most inspiring
songwriters to
share their songs and stories. During this acoustic, informal evening, each featured
songwriter will perform their songs and share the 'back story' and inspiration about
how each song was written.

DAKOTA NIGHTS FOR WAR CHILD BENEFIT, MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2009
War Child Canada is excited to announce another intimate night of music, Luke Doucet with special guest Emm Gryner, which will take place at The Dakota Tavern in Toronto on Monday, December 14, 2009. This very special night is part of Dakota Nights for War Child, a unique benefit concert series featuring intimate performances by celebrated artists, hosted by The Dakota Tavern and War Child Canada. Doors will open at 7:00 pm. Acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Emm Gryner will open the show at 8:00 pm, with critically acclaimed guitarist, singer-songwriter Luke Doucet, taking the stage at 9:00 pm. All proceeds will support War Child Canada, a registered charity that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world. Luke Doucet is a gifted songwriter, guitarist, producer and much sought after studio musician. With three solo albums under his belt, including the Juno Award nominated Broken (and other rogue states) and the winner of the Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Contemporary Album, Blood’s Too Rich, Luke has achieved international acclaim. Luke has toured the world many times over, often as a solo artist, but also with such acts as Josh Rouse, Blue Rodeo, James Blunt, and many others. In addition to writing and recording his own material, Luke also has acted as a producer on a number of projects, including albums by NQ Arbuckle, Melissa McClelland, and most recently, Rose Cousins. www.lukedoucet.com
Emm Gryner is 3-time Juno Award nominated Canadian singer-songwriter, former CBC radio host and occasional actor. She has toured with Josh Ritter, Jann Arden, Ron Sexsmith and as a member of David Bowie's band. In the 20th anniversary edition of Q magazine, U2 frontman Bono named her song "Almighty Love" as one of five songs from the last 20 years that he wishes he had written. Emm made her film debut as Tracey in the recent Canadian film, "One Week". Her label Dead Daisy Records has released albums by Royal Wood, John Southworth and will re-release Colleen Brown's "Foot In Heart" in 2010.
